What LOCKDOWN did to a student!!

The first day/story on medium.

On 24th March 2020 PM Modi announced LOCKDOWN and its been almost eight months since we all are locked up in our houses. So, today is my first day on medium and I am going to share what this lockdown meant for a common Indian girl who was just about to post-graduate (on April), but the whole life turned upside down.

So, just four days before the lockdown was announced, I and my friends went home taking leave of about ten-day unaware about the whole lockdown thing. And when it was announced our parents became the happiest person on Earth, thinking of the whole pandemic situation. On the other hand, for students, it was like an extended holiday of 21 days.

I felt really lucky that I got home before the lockdown announcement because the whole situation was very bad in our country. First few days were like perfect homesickness days where mother used to treat me with delicious home-cooked Indian dishes, it’s like “atithi devo bhawa” in your own house. Many WhatsApp groups were created, we also used to catch up on Zoom calls. We used to enjoy every trend, be it “Dalgona Cofee” or “Zoom Calls”, unaware of the fact that life is beyond that and what’s coming to us next and hitting us hard.
